Watford-based Audentior Symphony Orchestra is launching its new season with a family concert at Harrow Arts Centre.
The Halloween-themed concert will see the town’s newest orchestra playing a number of favourites.
Families with children of all ages are encouraged to come, and wear their best fancy dress!
The music that will be performed includes Danse Macabre – which many will recognise as the theme tune for Jonathan Creek, but in actual fact was written to depict a night – Halloween – where the dead rise from their graves to dance.
The concert will also feature medleys from Phantom of the Opera and Wicked as well as music from films such as Jaws, Halloween, and The Thing.
It will also include a world premiere of a version of the music from Saw, which was arranged by local percussionist Danny Basford.
The concert is part of Audentior Symphony Orchestra’s mission to make orchestral music available to everyone – of any age and any musical background (even if that background is none at all!).
Orchestra Chair Rowena Cutting said: “Audentior Symphony Orchestra has been up and running for five years, but this is the first time we’ve put on a Halloween Concert.
“Making music fun and accessible for everyone was a core part of why the orchestra was set up, and we’re so thrilled to be taking this step.
“The music is all amazing, but incredibly varied, so you’ll find there’s something for everyone.
“We’re also so excited to be putting on the concert at Harrow Arts Centre – a gorgeous venue, and a brilliant opportunity to get our music out to even more people.”
The concert is taking place at 4pm on Saturday 25 October, in the Elliot Hall at Harrow Arts Centre.
Tickets can be purchased via the Harrow Arts Centre website.
